Many thanks to the fifteen bartenders and over three hundred guests who helped kick-off Maine Restaurant Week 2010 in grand style. The Portland Museum of Art was the perfect setting to showcase the artistry of Maine's bartending elite.

During the Bash a surprise announcement was made by Maine Beverage Company President and CEO, D. Dean Williams, that the company would be matching the evening's fundraising for Preble Street Resource Center. To the entire Maine Beverage Company team, we can't thank you enough. Bartenders Bash

Food Industry Mug Shots 1899-1954
From the Collection of Dr. Lou Jacobs

Opening Reception, Friday March 5th, 6:00-8:00

Even the Food Industry has Black Sheep. On Friday March 5, 6-8p, Rabelais will host an opening reception for the collection of Dr. Lou Jacobs of Mug Shots 1899-1954.

A motley assortment of cooks, bakers, waiters, dishwashers, bartenders and butchers who lost control and broke the law.

The arrested were murderers, thieves, pimps and fugitives. Some were simply drunk & disorderly. Many of the documents are from San Francisco, New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. All of the mug shots are original.

In honor of Maine Restaurant Week, come out and see the underside of the hospitality business.... For more information or images contact Samantha Lindgren 774 1044.
