In the center of the Old Port is Chef Harding Lee Smith's second independent venture, The Grill Room. As its name suggests, The Grill Room specializes in all things wood-grilled: naturally raised steaks, meats, fish, seafood, and pizzas from its wood-fired oven. Following up on his success at The Front Room, Chef Smith saw a need for a steak house in Portland, The Grill Room filled that niche.

Like all of Chef Smith's ventures, the atmosphere comforts, replete with wood, earth tones, and a welcoming bar. Soothing, rustic coziness and "comfort writ large" make The Grill Room Portland's favorite steakhouse. Keeping in the tradition of the Rooms, draught beers, wines, and cocktails, and, of course, dessert, bring the "urban steakhouse" to the level of city staple.
