Slates moved into the building next door this year, the yellow one directly to the right of the old location.  Come check it out!

Slates owner and head chef Wendy Larson has always used regionally sourced, seasonal and natural ingredients in all of her recipies.  Larson's creative and consistent cooking has brought Slates statewide acclaim for over thirty seven years! 
 
Inside Slates doors not only great food, but art, is served.  Monthly rotating art shows plaster the exposed brick walls, dark reclaimed woodwork embelishes the bar and hand painted murals cover the walls and tables throughout.  Finally, the open kitchen allows customers to view the chefs at work.
 
Slates is located in Maine's historic Hallowell. Water street runs along the kennebec river and is lined with ample antique stores.  Slates Bakery is located next door at 161 Water street.
