We've reserved the upstairs at Bull Feeney's in Portland's Old Port for this Restaurant Week get together. Feast on Maine’s famous midcoast mussels from Pemaquid Mussel Farms while savoring Cold River Vodka cocktails, all part of the event's ticket price. Distillers Chris Dowe and Bob Harkins from Cold River will be there, introducing their amazing product. Smokey McKeen and Carter Newell of Pemaquid Mussels will be there too; educating us on their products. Old Gray Goose will be with us, playing traditional Quebecois music from Maine, the Maritimes and Ireland. Smokey and Carter, the mussel purveyors, are Old Gray Goose -- They’ve even got some songs about shellfish. The music starts at 5:30. After this Maine mussel and vodka celebration, we invite everyone to stay at Bull Feeney's to dine on their Restaurant Week menu.

Chef and owner of Local 188, Jay Villani, will be welcoming us into his restaurant for this Restaurant Week special event. We're headed to Local 188 to drink Maine Mead Works hand-crafted wildflower honey mead. Also we will be eating foods prepared by Jay-- featuring flavors that accompany the mead to perfection. Maine Mead Work owners, Eli and Ben, will be on hand, opening our minds and palates. After this event, we invite you to stay at Local 188 for their Restaurant Week menu.

If you enjoy drinking Champagne, this event's for you. Our guest of honor is Tilar Mazzeo, the author of “The Widow Clicquot: The Story of a Champagne Empire and the Woman Who Ruled It”. Tilar is a cultural historian, biographer, and passionate student of wine and food. As you listen and learn, you'll drink varieties of Veuve Clicquot Champagnes. Cigar smokers -- don't miss out. Portland Harbor Hotel's heated patio is the place to be for Restaurant Week's smoker night. Preeminent cigar maker Davidoff will be providing our cigars (at least two per guest; value of these alone exceed the ticket cost!) As we smoke and learn from representatives of Davidoff, we'll be sipping fine wine from Ravenswood and Shipyard's newest label, Imperial Porter. Food Films, presented by Rabelais Books, Maine Institute of Food and Drink and One Longfellow. Doors open at 6:00 PM. Big Night begins at 6:30, after food has been served.
